Anita Strachan

Anita Strachan BSc, RAc

Registered Acupuncturist and TCM Practitioner

Originally born in England, Anita Strachan immigrated to Canada in 1986.

Before immigrating, she attained a degree in Physics, and pursued a career in Radiological Imaging Sciences, specializing in Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Biology.

Anita continued to work and study in western medicine for many years until her love of yoga and eastern philosophy steered to her towards Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). After being healed through TCM and acupuncture, she made the final decision to retire from her long-time profession in Nuclear Medicine. Anita began studying to become a TCM practitioner and acupuncturist, eager to pass on her knowledge of the medicines great healing power.

She has now been practicing in Edmonton Alberta, for many years. Studying and working alongside a variety of great practitioners. Allowing her to build a unique knowledge base on the different techniques available in this vast and fascinating holistic way of healing.

She helps clients with symptoms such as Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS), Infertility, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and smoking addictions. Also those with serious injuries obtained through sport or motor vehicle accidents.

Anita finds this amazing practice extremely beneficial. She uses TCM to guide individuals back to health, balance, and bring homeostasis to their bodies and minds, with nutritional advice and maintenance.

In her spare time Anita loves travelling and exploring the great outdoors Alberta has to offer with her family.

Kenneth Strachan

Kenneth Strachan

Senior Yoga Instructor

Ken is the founder of the Edmonton Yoga Studio and YAA certified Senior Instructor since 1982.

Ken began studying yoga for two years prior to joining the Freidel Khattab School of Yoga where he became a certified yoga teacher in 1978.

He began studying on a weekly basis with a small group of yoga instructors, which included the founder of the BKS Iyengar Association of Edmonton.

Ken went on to travel in India in 1986 to attend public and intensive courses with BKS Iyengar and Geeta Iyengar. He studied in India on several occasions where he met and studied with Father Joe Peirera. Throughout the years he has studied with many of the senior yoga instructors throughout the world.

Ken has taught to tens of thousands of students and he continues to teach to a broad spectrum of clientele including, athletes, yoga instructors, physically challenged, mentally challenged, seniors and all levels of students.

He has been instrumental in bringing many international yoga instructors to Edmonton and continues to run a variety of yoga retreats and vacation in Alberta and abroad.

Patti Papirnik

Patti Papirnik

Patti Papirnik began her yoga practice 15 years ago initially as a tool to cope with the demanding challenges of being a full time working mother and wife. In her yoga practice, she found tools to build strength, flexibility and resiliency. Patti entered teacher training with the Yoga Association of Alberta and received her teacher certification in 2012. Patti continues her personal practice faithfully and wants to share her passion for yoga with others.

She teaches introductory Hatha Yoga with a focus on form and alignment.

Tammy Robertson-Davis

Tammy Robertson-Davis

Tammy is a certified teacher through the Edmonton Yoga Studio and the Yoga Association of Alberta.  She has also extended her studies with many internationally acclaimed instructors.

Paralleling her love of yoga is her passion for music and both are evident in her classes.
